ALCOA Aluminum Alice in Wonderland Chess Set This chess set was produced in 1970 in a limited quantity (200) and distributed to key employees and customers of ALCOA. The playing pieces are formed in aluminum using the process of powdered metallurgy which was being extensively developed in the late 1960s and 1970s and are characters from Alice in Wonderland. The playing board is also aluminum. The chess board is a walnut wood base with aluminum top approximately 20" x 20". The wooden storage case shows a few scratches.
There was a book in the center titled "Before You Make The Next Move" by Reuben Fine and was a 1970 reprint. There was also a print of Alice In Wonderland designed by George S Gaadt. These two item have been lost to time. Overall this set is in excellent condition.
