Bridge City Tool Works Special Edition Crowning Plane, Very Rare, #20 of 50 made. This is #20 of 50 of a limited edition of stainless steel crowning planes. The SE Crowning Plane was designed by John Economaki, founder of Bridge City Tool Works, and one of their rarest runs of planes.
For those who have seen John's furniture, he used crowned edges extensively in his furniture. And there is no easier way to accomplish this than with a plane designed specifically for the task. This includes the original plane, in new and unused state. It includes a fence and two irons (one of them in the plane, the other untouched in plastic). Also includes the beautiful original walnut box with Bridge City Tool Works laser engraved on the top.
The box has a couple of very small dings on the lid (see pics), but the plane is untouched. This plane was built around the popular "Foxtail" design John pioneered with his shoulder planes. It is as fun to use as it is to admire. It features adjustable front and rear soles.
This particular SE Crowning Plane is hand signed by John Economaki (see pics). The SE Crowning Plane is prominently featured in "Quality is Contagious". Happy to share more pictures or questions.
